My Random Awesome Life
I have gone the whole week with only and hour of TV and I am seriously starting to feel it. Well actually I feel like my days are longer, shocker right. I get up and do stuff instead of sitting in my bed and I feel completely worn by noon (unless I happen to get up at noon, then I am worn by five). I am proud of my self for making it to the end of my 10 days on the Vineyard and I have not spent all of my money. It is really hard to not have internet at all, not just for TV. The hard part would be like Kaliegh and I having a debate about who what in what movie and I could not look it up on IMDB. I have been having to use the iTouch to check my email. when it came to technology this week it was very tedious, but when it came to having a good time it has been great. from the outside it may look boring (a lot of reading happened), but it was exactly the kind of vacation that i needed to forget about the horrid school year.

(translation: Llama speaks French and she eats her lunch)
You may be curious about the title of this blog entry…
The publisher I am interning with is owned by a French company Lagardere. Unrelated to our french own, many people at work can speak french. One of them sent out an invitation for people who want to practice speaking french to eat lunch together in the conference room and practice. They said all levels welcome, (except people who had never learned any French). I decided to go.
I took French in high school for three years and two years in middle school…and now I have graduated from college. Surprisingly I remembered some stuff and listening to the beautifully fluent women help jog my memory. I probably spoke more in French yesterday than I did in all of high school…still not a lot, because I didn’t really speak in French at all in hs.
The best part is last night instead of having my usual dreams about getting book jackets approved by the art department, I dreamt (which autospell check is telling me isn’t a word) about struggling to speak french. At the end of my dream my stepmom called me and said we were going to see the Seine next week. Then my little sister asked me where we were going (because I looked really excited) and I said, “Je n’sais pas”. But I would just like to ask, why would we go to see le Seine…its just so random.
The day before last I went to a meeting at work where paper sales people came to talk to us. It sounds boring and may bring to mind scenes from The Office. But it was not either of those things.
Mohawk Fine Papers lead the environmental paper company movement (according to them). They use wind power, and produce carbon neutral paper (not all their papers are though). They have 29 different kinds of paper, and every paper comes in a variety of beautiful colors, textures, weights, and sizes. I wish that I needed it/could afford it. 25 sheets of 8.5″ x 11″ paper is $3.99! But worth it?…as much as I would like to say yes, I really like eating and riding the subway. Plus if I write letters with carbon neutral paper does it effect my carbon footprint more or less than writing an email? I’m sure my carbon footprint is the size of a dinosaur’s regular footprint. I just stay ignorant because then I remain blissful.
My last piece of information for this entry is actually about an amazing discovery I made today.
Are you ready?
In the Metlife building, there is an expensive take out place across from Godiva called, Cucina & Co.
I went into Cucina & Co to treate myself to a cupcake this afternoon. When I looked at all the bakedgoods for sale, I saw a box. It was filled with pieces of cookies…Best part….ready?…
for $1!!!
New favorite thing!
I went back to my desk, drank some tea, ate some cookie pieces, and didn’t have shopper’s remorse because I spent a buck!
The amazing realization that followed this was, white chocolate chips are the best thing that has happened to cookies since…nope, Ever.
Thats all for today!
