The best of both worlds

Okay, so blogger is acquired by google and now all that blogger goodness of bloggerPro is available to everyone for free. Back in the olden days some of us paid for BloggerPro (I liked the added features and am a big fan of supporting creative entrepreneurs). But the Powers That Be at the original blogger haven't forgotten their friends. As a lovely thank you gift, Jason, Ev and the gang sent their loyal supporters a free Blogger hoodie. As Jess said, "It's the perfect snowboarding attire." I love that I am young enough to get excited about a free sweatshirt and old enough to afford a lift ticket.

"Desire bends reality."

That's what Spike said last night on Angel. Pretty profound, huh? The poor vampiric ghost seemed trapped in a kind of Hell where nothing could happen until he understood. All he had to do was want it badly enough. And who says TV isn't deep? Throw my set out??? Not on Angel-the-vampire-with-a-soul's life!

Has it really been a month since I stopped talking to my blog? How like me is that!?! There's been a bunch of things going on, buisness with W, life with the kids, dogs and ailing houseplants, D's alteration in her matial status, and tons of stuff at the job that wouldn't die. Yes, that's right, I'm still here, more than a month after they told me the nightmare would end. And true to form, I'm now the Queen of Just About Everthing here. Nevermind. Having a good time with N and C and really still enjoy the heck out of collecting a paycheck.

I've taught N & C to knit and it's created a small commotion here. People keep coming up to us everywhere we go asking what we're making and where we bought our yarn and can they join us? Sure, why not. Nancy, completely unprovoked yesterday, blurted out, "I love knitting!" Yeah, I get it. I told her that it's all the world really needs is one good hobby. It gives you a reason to leave your hometown (besides visiting your family), gives you a reason to surf online, provides purpose to your aimless shopping. And in the end, if you're lucky, you have a scarf, sweater, poncho, or sock. It's all good. Nancy then told me that the last time she had her blood pressure taken, it was actually in the normal range and the only thing that she is doing differently is that she has begun knitting. Shelby, the little girl that isn't really her kid, has taken a shine to it. And her Jessica, the one in college, requested knitting stuff for her birthday...by the end of the weekend, J had made herself a beautiful scarf in lopi-like carnelian. So at least this semester isn't wasted for her.

As always, there are other little dramas going on and for me the best way to survive them (i'm not sure if I'm bypassing them or swimming through them) is to whip out the Kidsilk Haze and the Addi Turbos and knit out a little lace.
