Sing, sing a song...
The big thrill these days has been designing new themes for the pocket pc. I've made them with pictures from Deb's garden last spring, photos I took in museums, and one of teapots from the Sesame Seed Restaurant. I think it's interesting that I, who have trouble matching my socks with my pants, can lose a few days coordinating rgb values between digipics and text to create that perfect ensemble. Snow is melting, temperatures are in the 60s, spring is springing up all over the place and I spent the afternoon reading about digitial media cards (and I was quite happy to do so). I was grateful for the peace and quiet and I appreciate how the stack of books and notebooks on my desk keep people with questions away. The upside of having every strange aspect of this place finding its way to into my job description is that no one has any idea what I do. I guess we have that in common. There is some girl here (at W, our behavioral healthcare facility) who has taken to singing Phoebe Snow full tilt every chance she gets. Yesterday, I had three meetings accompanied by her a capella song stylin's and today, she's gotten a few of the other girls to sing along. They actually have pretty nice voices, but I find myself getting a little nervous that the shaking I do in the afternoon will have less to do with caffeine withdrawal and more to do with their foray into Minnie Ripperton.

Absence makes my heart go crazy
I seem to be suffering some rare malaise instigated by the removal of my favorite playmate. In his absence, I have decided to post this photo of M where I can rant to him, smile at him, and cast magical spells to make him come home from China quickly. Besdes, I think he looks good in pink. (if you're listening, M, I take it all back. I know I said it warms me to think that you are out there, somewhere on the planet. Did you have to go to China to prove me wrong? What I meant to say is, it warms me when you are here.)

A Picture of Warmth
the truth is, it's been as divinely sucky week. i'm trying like mad to learn whatever lessons this heap of dirty socks known as my life is offering. and sometimes, i'm just so tired i'd prefer to read about it somewhere else (maybe there's a new issue of Oprah!). snow, ice, freezing rain (no locusts, however) are holding me here. my heart hurts (i'm telling the truth now) and i wish there were something here to keep me warm besides books and fuzzy slippers.

Buying Bulk
I haven't blogged in a while and excuses are, well, just excuses anyway. I've been busy searching for something to believe in and, as usual, all roads seem to lead me back to the eternal.
